Former Dalat accountant & comptroller Mr. Steven Koo
supervised the badminton club for many years until his retirement &
subsequent relocation to China. The club still meets every Thursday right
after school for 1 ½ hours as it did during Koo’s time but presently it is
managed by the Rogers family, Corinne & Patrick. They bring their extensive
knowledge of the game from time previously spent in Canada.
Some interested & motivated students become involved in
MSSPP
Competition. MSSPP is short for Majlis
Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Pulau Pinang which is essentially Penang’s Zone &
State playoffs. There are Zone competitions followed by State competitions
for those athletes who manage to make it through the grueling
single-knockout tournament format.
This club is open to
basically anyone, including staff, parents and any students enrolled at
Dalat who are interested in playing for fun or for competition. We have 6
courts available for use and they will normally be quite full but there is
always opportunity to get some playing time. |
