Dalat International School, Tanjung Bunga, 11200 Penang, Malaysia
Each quarter as part of the English 12 curriculum, seniors write articles
for the school feature paper, the Eagle’s Eye. Hard copies of this
publication are mailed to parents and alumni; this electronic copy can be
printed by anyone with a computer and Acrobat!
The school paper’s history goes back at least as far as 1949 when it was
published in Dalat, Vietnam as Pine Echoes. In the late 1950s, the
name again changed to Pine Hill Echoes and by 1962 it had evolved to
the Bamboo Beacon. The first issue named Eagle’s Eye (that we
have in our historical records anyway) was in October 1964. If you have old
copies of the Dalat paper that you wish to donate to its archives, please
send them care of John “Tommy” Tompkins. We will scan and put many of these
issues on-line for alumni and former students and staff to enjoy.
