Dalat has several teaching and administrative positions that need to be filled for the upcoming school year 2013-2014. It is always exciting when former students and staff come back to minister on our campus. Please take a look at the openings listed below and if there is a position that you feel God is leading you to fill, consider joining us in this incredible ministry. DIS is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, caring professionals who are professing Christians. Candidates must have an understanding of Christian education and have the ability to integrate Biblical principles in their teaching. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be adept with technology and demonstrate flexibility in working in a cross-cultural environment. Candidates must be willing to incorporate cooperative learning strategies and ESL-sensitive instruction.

High School Guidance Counselor

The high school/college counselor services developmental, emotional, spiritual and academic issues for students in grades 9-12 through individual and group guidance activities. He or she implements group guidance curriculum (including transition, career awareness and planning, and college preparation and planning), for particular groups of students and for parents. The counselor guides students in course selection, understanding GPA’s and permanent records, diploma options and other requirements.

Spiritual Life Director (Chaplain)

Dalat is looking for a candidate with spiritual vitality/depth and the ability to draw staff and students into a deeper relationship with Christ. The SLD is responsible to keep the spiritual life on campus a priority by managing the chapel program, semester emphasis weeks, small group ministries, school community worship, and in other capacities by addressing the dynamic spiritual needs of staff and students. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the director for the job profile. For this position there is a supplementary application form that is sent to the candidate via email.

Special Services Teacher

Dalat is seeking a teacher who will be responsible for providing accommodations for students with special educational needs in the elementary and middle school grades. Three to five years of experience of practical teaching and the use of evaluative and diagnostic tools (WIAT, Woodcock, etc.) is preferred.

Technology Teacher / Integrationist

Dalat is a leader in the integration of technology and needs a technology specialist to join our technology team. The focus of this position would be in the area of teaching middle school and teaching high school technology classes. Part of this position would involve helping other teachers use technology in their classrooms.

ESL Teacher/ Coordinator

Dalat is in need of a person to coordinate the ESL program, including admissions testing, teaching, and overall supervision of the ESL teachers.  Master’s degree preferred, valid teaching certification in ESL needed.  

Elementary Teacher (Grade 1 or Grade 2)

Dalat is looking for an energetic, nurturing elementary teacher to instruct our grade 1 or grade 2 students.  The candidate needs to hold a valid teaching certificate, preferably in early childhood, have related teaching experience and an understanding/experience in planning and teaching thematic units. 

Middle School Teacher (Grade 5 or Grade 6)

Dalat School continues to grow and next year will be adding a second section of grade 5. We also have an opening for one of the 6th grade sections. Either position involves being the “home room” teacher for the students and responsible for the core subjects of the day. The candidate needs to hold a valid teaching certificate and have related teaching experience in middle school or upper elementary.

Elementary and Middle School Art Teacher

Dalat is looking for an experienced art teacher to work with and develop the artistic abilities in our elementary and middle school students. The ability to teach fundamental art skills and to excite budding artists to pursue art into high school and beyond is an important skill needed for this position.

High School English Teacher

Dalat is looking for a HS English teacher that can excite students about writing and the study of literature. Classes being taught would include 10th and 11th grade English classes. A degree in English expected. High school teaching experience required.

High School Science Teacher

Dalat is looking for an engaging and hands on high school science teacher. Courses this person will be teaching may include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and/or Physical Science. A valid teaching certificate and 2+ years of teaching experience are needed.

High School Bible Teacher

Dalat is looking for bible teacher who can challenge and bring scripture alive and make it relevant to today’s postmodern generation. Dalat follows a traditional scope and sequence in the high school bible curriculum. The specific classes to be taught will be determined later in the semester. There is a possibility that a humanities class may be included the teaching load of this position to make it full time. A degree in bible is expected and high school teaching experience preferred

Part Time Positions:

Pre-School (3 yr olds)

DIS is looking for an energetic, nurturing teacher to instruct our half day pre-school program.  The candidate needs to have experience working with preschool students in a school setting and a degree or teacher certification. The candidate should also have an understanding/experience in planning and teaching thematic units and planning/arranging center work for his/her students.
