Admissions Guide 2012-2013

Dalat is an American style, college preparatory, Christian school that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges ( WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International ( ACSI). Our campus is host to over 450 students from counties on every continent around the world and offers an exciting multi-cultural environment for students to learn.

The information in this booklet is to assist parents in making the admission process as smooth as possible. It provides information you need regarding the enrollment process as well as services available at Dalat.

Student and Parent Handbook 2012-2013

Dalat continues to grow and look for ways to improve the educational experience we provide for your children. As you come on campus this semester you will see a number of improvements we have made to the physical campus. Another example of our desire to improve is this handbook right in front of you. It has been updated with new pictures, more information, and a better index to help you quickly find what you're looking for.

We want to strongly encourage you to sit down and take the time to read through it. Although it lists many of our rules and guidelines it also offers a glimpse inside daily life at school. Many of the questions you will have this year can be answered in the pages of this book, so as the year rolls on do not hesitate to consult this valuable resource.

Programs of Instruction Handbook 2012-2013

Based on the belief that children have a natural potential for learning, the curriculum is designed to provide students with skills, concepts, enrichment, and opportunities for self-expression. Instruction in academic areas and special subjects is designed to meet individual needs and accommodate the different learning rates and developmental stages of children.

The elementary classes are closed classrooms with a homeroom teacher. Some subjects are taught by a specialist teacher outside the homeroom classroom.

Residence Life Handbook 2012-2013

Welcome to the residence life program of Dalat International School. We strive to make the residential program as home-like as possible within the limits of a large, close community. We want our dorms to become a "home away from home" for Dalat's boarding students.

One of our highest priorities is to partner with parents to help meet the needs of our students, so that they will grow physically, socially, emotionally, academically and spiritually.
