2012-2013 School Theme: Disconnect

Dalat students will be encouraged to “disconnect” from the technology around us and instead focus on the importance of connecting with each other and God.
With the use of iPads in the high school and computers in all divisions technology will increase dramatically during the day. Though there are many educational and entertainment benefits to technology, we all must learn how to use the technology around us in a healthy way.
- Relationships can suffer with the increased use of technology. We must not neglect the importance of relationships with each other and specifically our relationship with God.
- Ironically as we teach our kids how to be “more connected”, we also need to teach them the balance of being “less connected”.
- We must learn how to disconnect (unplug technology) so that we can connect (to build healthy relationships).
Dalat International School chooses a school theme each year so that “education for life” can be applied and taught in the classroom in creative ways. The school theme also ties into one of the school’s ESLRs (Expected School-wide Learning Results).
Effective Communicator
