Middle School+  U15 Basketball is for open to male & female students, from grades 6-9 & must be under the under the age of 15, as of January 1st in the current school year.  In an attempt to incorporate a North American Ideology into a Malaysian system, we usually end up having a split season, beginning in Semester 1 where local “friendly games” are arranged amid a 2-3 practice week.

Semester 2 early in May we host an International Invitational Tournament, the only 1 of its kind in Malaysia for school students. The 5-6 hours journey by coach from the country’s Capital Kuala Lumpur is made by schools including: International School of Kuala Lumpur, Alice Smith, Garden & Mont’ Kiara. Many local Island schools also enter: Uplands, Georgetown, Heng Ee, Chung Ling, Jelutong, Air Itam, Sri Penang, Union, Heng Ee, Berapit.  This nice mix of international & local schools gives the tourney a totally Malaysian feel. 

DIS has the nicest indoor court on the island. It also has a lighted outdoor court used for practices and pickup games. All away games are played on outdoor courts. Practices or games are held after school three times a week.
