Penang is one of 13 states in the federation of Malaysia.
The state of Penang is made up of the island of Penang and a narrow strip of
land on the main coast. It is about 5 degrees north of the equator along the
North-Western coast of Peninsula Malaysia.
The island of Penang is about 24 km (15 miles) long by 12 km
(7.5 miles) wide. The north side of the island is home to some beautiful
beaches, 4 and 5 star resorts, and Dalat International School. The island is
connected to the mainland by the longest bridge in Southeast Asia (13.5 km).
