Dalat serves as a home away from home for many students
whose parents live outside the country.
Resident supervisors have a
special obligation to set up basic rules for all the dorms, but they are
only used to serve as broad guidelines. Each set of dorm parents whilst
following these principles, have to apply their own set of rules and privileges
for their "dorm children."
Dalat gives the
opportunity
for dorm students to present ideas or concerns to us with certain
situations during bi-weekly Dorm Representative meetings.
In the fall of 2002, we switched
from our same
gender, same age group dorms to co-ed, various age groups, and family style
dorms. We have seen many positive results of this
change. Currently there are five dorms hosting
about 60 students, ranging from first
grade to twelfth grade. Click on the links on the left side of this page to
find out more information about each of the dorms.
