Dorm Families

Life-long Friends

Our boarding program is home to up to 54 dorm students from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. Dorms are family-style which means siblings are placed together in the same dorm and students usually remain with the same dorm family for the duration of their stay at Dalat.

Each co-ed dorm family is a blend of younger and older students (grades 6-12), creating a family atmosphere. Each dorm family enjoys a wide variety of activities together, such as shopping, playing games, attending church services, enjoying family outings and meals out together, and serving in the community.

A strong sense of community between the three dorms helps all dorm students feel connected. The three dorm families are housed in the same building: Ziemer Dorm on Level 2, Jaffray Dorm on Level 3 and Jackson Dorm on Level 4. While dorm students are expected to stay in their own dorms after curfew, at other times they enjoy visiting their friends in other dorms. Sometimes individual dorms plan activities and events, but many times the three dorms join together for outings such as meals out, bowling, late-night parties, day trips to nearby islands, and the annual dorm retreat.
