Ziemer dorm is located on upper campus, next to Jaffray dorm. Uncle
David and Aunt Suzette
are the current dorm parents.
In Ziemer dorm, like all the dorms on campus, brothers and sisters live in the same dorm.
Ziemer dorm has 2-3 students per room. There are guys rooms at the left side of the
dorm, and girls at the right side. The center of the dorm contains a a
big room called the lounge. The lounge is like the living room with a TV
that the students gather around to spend time together. There is also a
kitchen where the dorm mom cooks and the kids can
use it as well.
During the week the dorm students eat breakfast at the cafeteria. On Wednesdays, the dorm mom cooks treats for the students, which all the
students look forward to. During the weekends, the students gets
together and eat in the dorm. For Saturdays, the dorm mom cooks supper for
the students. All the students say that the dorm mom is a really good cook.
In the dorm, they have devotions and dorm meetings every week. The life of the
dorm is based on biblical values. They can develop high Christian values
from everyday life.
There is a daily room check in the dorm. The dorm parents looks around every
student's room to check if they are keeping the room clean. There is a
bathroom in each room. In each room there are ceiling fans. In Ziemer dorm, they do not have a washer or a dryer, so every
morning, the students take their laundry to the main laundry room to get it
washed.
The dorm students do all the basic chores by themselves. They wash their
dishes, take out their garbage, and help their dorm parents with
whenever they may ask of them.
