Elementary School

Educating and nurturing young minds

Three children,with a teacher

Dalat Elementary (Pre-school - Grade 4) is a welcoming and vibrant environment where highly trained teachers provide a holistic, differentiated education focused on inspiring students to reach their fullest academic potential and live fully for God.

Our students are encouraged to think creatively, work cooperatively, and develop strong character (respectful, responsible, helpful, and safe citizens).

The core curriculum is enhanced by specialized classes (Music, Art, P.E., Library, Technology), EAL services, and after-school Kid Interest Clubs (KICs).

Our student services team collaborates with teachers to meet the varying needs of each child.

We highly value parental involvement and look forward to partnering with you in your child’s educational journey at DIS.

Fun Activities for Elementary Students

Elementary students enjoy a wide range of learning experiences beyond the classroom that deepen their love of learning and sense of belonging.

  • After-school clubs (KICs) for grades 1–4 in areas such as sports, arts, and academic interests
  • Concerts
  • Penang Performing Arts Carnival, an interschool event for 3rd and 4th grade students
  • Cultural Exchange Day
  • Sports Day
  • 100th Day of School
  • Battle of the Books
  • Learning Fair & Art Exhibition
  • Science & End-of-Year Field Trips
  • Math Week

Through special events and activities, they discover new interests, build friendships across grade levels, and practice skills such as teamwork, creativity, and resilience. These shared experiences help shape a joyful, close-knit community where students feel known, supported, and excited to come to school.

A group of children in school uniforms are standing on a grassy field, holding large burlap sacks and participating in what appears to be a sack race or similar activity.

My vision for our elementary school is that our students will say, “I love to learn! My teachers taught me how to teach myself, and I can learn anything, even if it’s difficult. I have learned how to act like the person God created me to be and live as someone in God’s kingdom."
