The Christmas Truce
For the last edition of the Dalat News this semester I thought I would send you to a Christmas video. The ad which was produced by Sainsbury, a grocery store in the UK, depicts the events of what is called the “Christmas Truce of 1914”.
The Christmas Truce of 1914 happened in Europe during World War I when the German and British troops held a one day truce on Christmas day that allowed them to bury their dead, fix the trenches, exchange gifts, and even play a soccer game. I’d encourage you to take the time to watch this well-made video about the spirit of Christmas.
Have a wonderful Christmas break,
Mr. Karl Steinkamp
