The elementary computer curriculum gives students a strong background of knowledge and skills necessary to excel in today’s technology-rich academic environment. Students in grades K–4 attend weekly classes in one of the school’s well-equipped computer labs.
A strong emphasis is placed on learning various software applications through hands-on experience. In addition to learning about topics such as hardware and peripherals, file management, online safety, internet terminology and tools, proper use of internet resources, electronic communication, introduction to programming, and use of Google apps, students learn important foundational skills of problem solving, design thinking, critical thinking, and communication. Students also work on the development of keyboarding skills.
