AP Calculus AB covers the basic concepts and skills of differential and integral calculus. Some topics studied include limits; tangent lines to curves; definitions of derivative and integral; optimization problems; curve sketching, function analysis; area under curves; applications of differentiation and integration including determining the volume of solids of revolution and solids of known cross sections. 

Use of graphing calculators is emphasized throughout the course. Students must take the AP Calculus exam in May.
