English 10

In English 10, students study fiction in the fall and non-fiction in the spring. Fiction works include Murder on the Orient Express, Twelve Angry Men, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Fahrenheit 451. Non-fiction works include I Am Malala, Payoff, and Indistractable.

Written English skills are developed in several ways; students learn new aspects of writing style through various forms of essays, creative pieces, and a poetry unit. Students also develop critical and analytical thinking. Lastly, speeches and presentations improve students’ ability to communicate well.
