Social Studies 6 focuses on ancient civilizations of the world, including the Indus Valley Civilization, the Aztec Empire and Ancient Greece. Students learn how geography impacts the development of a civilization, and how differing cultures, religions, philosophies, and government systems emerge over the course of history. References to the Bible occur frequently and naturally throughout these topics.

Students analyze causes and effects of historical changes and develop the skill of finding specific evidence to support their claims. The course aims to give students a greater depth of understanding of the modern-day countries of the world, so that they can build bridges between cultures.
