Social Studies 8 is a survey course of U.S. history from before the Colonial Era through the Cold War. Students study the development of the United States as a nation, including the impacts of its changing international relations. This course challenges students to analyze causes and effects, discuss current events, and discover the major impacts people groups have on one another.

Students will increase their geography, communication, and presentation skills, and have opportunities to demonstrate their creativity through building opinions, creating government policies, writing historical fiction, and drawing. When students complete this course, they will have the skills to continue learning about other nations.
