Annual Fund 2023

Yellow and blue umbrellas, new scientific microscopes, Creative Zone equipment, board game library, AED machines, robotics kits, round campus tables, learning lab upgrades.

These are just some of the resources that were added to our campus in the past two years through the generosity of those who supported Dalat’s annual fundraising drive held each October.

And it’s that time of year once again!

The 2023 Annual Fund campaign gets underway on Monday, October 2.

When I arrived at Dalat two years ago, I experienced firsthand this time-honored tradition of holding a month-long fundraising campaign in October. And with it came some recurring questions that pop up each year:

Why is Dalat holding a fundraiser?
The Annual Fund is more than just a fundraiser; it is a way for us to come together as a community to make Dalat the best it can be for our students.

I already pay tuition, so why should I give to the Annual Fund?
While tuition covers the cost of the day-to-day expenses of operating the school, providing educational instruction, and maintaining the facilities, the funds raised through the Annual Fund allow us to add great new resources to enhance the educational experience of our students.

Who is asked to give to the Annual Fund?
Dalat parents, students, staff, and school board members are invited to support the campaign. We even reach out to alumni and friends of Dalat.

I truly desire this to be a community-wide endeavor in which we all participate in some way, large or small, to make Dalat the best school here in Penang.

This year, I am working with the principals in each division to engage our students in the awareness of the campaign. This is a great opportunity to teach them about generosity, philanthropy, and being a part of achieving a goal together as a community.

I am reaching out to our parents and working with the PTO to share the details of this year’s projects. I want to encourage you as parents to talk to your child(ren) about what you can do together as a family to support one of the projects that most resonates with you.

It is exciting to be part of Dalat – a place where we are working together to fulfill the mission of providing an education for life for all our children studying here. Your gift to the 2023 Annual Fund is an investment toward achieving this goal. Thanks in advance for your support!
