Unfortunately, safety is not a reality for millions of children worldwide. Child abuse and exploitation are harsh realities that transcend culture, race, gender, and socio-economic status. Extensive research reveals that adverse childhood experiences have long-lasting detrimental effects on children, including increased risk of substance abuse, impaired brain development, lower educational attainment, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

But here’s the good news: most child abuse is preventable through education, training, and awareness.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of children is a paramount commitment at Dalat. We take an active role in preventing harm to children, and one way we achieve this is by providing comprehensive training for our staff, students, and volunteers each year. Our upcoming Student Child Safety Week, from January 15-19, will focus on equipping students with age-appropriate knowledge and practical skills to keep themselves safe from physical and online dangers.

We recognize that navigating parenting challenges to keep children safe in this digital age can be daunting. To support you in this journey, we have curated a range of resources on our website under the resources section. These resources are designed to help you successfully navigate the digital realm while ensuring the well-being of your children.

At Dalat, we firmly believe every child deserves to be treated with unwavering respect and dignity, regardless of the circumstances or location. We also value the active involvement of parents as essential partners in the life of our school community. We invite you to collaborate in creating a safe environment for your children at Dalat.
