We are so excited to welcome everyone back for another school year! As always, there have been many great changes at Dalat.
The most obvious addition is the new middle school building, called The Marina! We’re still working on some finishing touches, but the students are happy to be in their new classrooms. Six elementary classes have moved to the old middle school building (now called The Ark), making more room for CASTLE’s high school classes. All counselors have moved to their divisions, and the former counseling office is now the high school office. The principal, counselors, registrar, and spiritual life director will all be in one place to serve our students’ needs better.
We are extremely grateful that all of our new staff are here to start the school year! We have 14 new teachers and staff joining us this year, and they are all eager to meet you! We’ve also added 2 new babies to our community over the break. Ms. Ong and Mrs. Craig both have new daughters who are doing well.
This year, we also welcomed 118 new students to Dalat! We hope that all of them quickly feel welcome and build great relationships. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a great place for parents to get involved in the school community. We are happy to announce that the new PTO leadership team includes Vera Willoughby, Sera Kim, Liza Lazarus, and Junko Sumino.
Our community has many more new things, but this is a small sample. We would love to welcome you to Open House in a few weeks so you can see everything for yourself!
How does standards-based learning align with our mission?
Our school theme this year is treasure. What do you think of when you hear that word?
Google Translate, though it is not a totally accurate word for word translation, it will enable you to at least view much of our content in over 100 languages. Studies show that Korean and Chinese have accuracy rates ranging from 80 to 90 percent.
