Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

I am thankful for our school board. Our school board is made up of members of our community who love the school and are willing to serve. They have busy and demanding schedules but give their time to serve the school in a powerful way.

I am thankful for our parents. The Thanksgiving lunch last week was amazing, and the national staff told me how much they enjoyed being included. The Dalat parents are always supportive and want the best for the school. When I see some of the conflicts in other places between the school and the parents, I am grateful that we can work together here for the good of the students.

I am thankful for the school leadership team. As any of you in a leadership position knows, it can be very stressful to serve in this way. I have the joy of working together with a team of leaders, each of whom has unique expertise and experience which they bring to every decision.

I am thankful for our staff. It is a pleasure to serve together with each of these people. Everyone does their best work each day, and it shows. The staff at Dalat make this a great place for kids to thrive.

I am thankful to live in Penang. This island is beautiful and comfortable, and the Penangites are kind and welcoming to me as an outsider. Every time I look at the ocean, I feel extremely blessed to have the privilege to live and work here.

I am thankful for our students. They do their best in almost anything we ask of them. They appreciate being part of this community and stand up for each other. They pray for and encourage the adults on trying days.

I am thankful to God, who has given me all these blessings. James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
