We’re excited to kick off Child Safety Week with a theme that’s more relevant than ever—Treasure Safety: Navigating the Online World. As technology evolves, so do its opportunities and risks. It’s essential for our school community to stay informed and proactive in ensuring online safety.

CS Events and Highlights

We launched Child Safety Week with our inaugural Parent Table Talk. Parents gained valuable insights from HS Media Literacy Teacher, Mr. Kit Chin, who shared essential information and practical guidance on digital safety, empowering all parents to help their children navigate the online world safely. Throughout the week, students from elementary to high school will engage in classroom lessons and small group discussions focused on digital safety. The week will conclude with a special chapel event featuring the MS technology teacher and integrationist, Mr. Yoo.

As part of the Child Safety Protection Network, we are committed to creating a safe, ethical, and inclusive environment for our students. Through collaboration, research, and shared best practices, we ensure our community remains well-equipped to navigate the digital landscape.

AI & Online Safety: What Parents Should Know

AI is here to stay, and while it offers many benefits, it also presents risks. Some AI-driven content has led children toward harmful behaviors and impacted mental health. Many digital platforms are intentionally designed to be addictive, making it crucial for parents to stay informed, monitor online activity, and engage in open conversations with their children. Knowing that these technologies are designed to capture attention—it’s not your fault. However, by fostering strong family relationships, you can provide the connection and security children naturally seek, reducing their need to find validation online.

Resources & Next Steps

During Child Safety Week (February 24–28), we’ll share practical resources to help you prevent and respond to online risks. We encourage you to ask your children about what they’ve learned and use this week as an opportunity for meaningful discussions.

Together, we can empower our children to navigate the digital world safely!
