Teacher Appreciation Week

While the second week of May is designated as Teacher Appreciation Week, at Dalat we choose to celebrate all of our school staff. The PTO has graciously blessed all staff with a grocery store gift voucher, and everyone is very grateful! The school has also organized a number of activities and gifts throughout the week to bless our school staff. I would encourage you to write a note or send an email of thanks to a staff member at Dalat if you haven’t already. School staff generally receive more complaints than thanks, so a few positive words go a long way.

I am sincerely grateful to be part of the staff team here at Dalat. While the school has changed in many ways during my 13 years here, the dedication of the staff has remained strong. Although everyone has a full schedule, people put everything aside and prioritize the kids. The yard workers stop mowing and blowing when kids walk near them. The teachers pause their lessons when kids ask for help. The counselors leave their paperwork until the evening when a child needs to talk. The guards stop traffic so kids can cross the parking lot. It is a joy to be part of a team that prioritizes the safety and well-being of students.

I also want to take a moment to appreciate you as parents! We hear and experience every day how great the “Dalat kids” are. The kids here are so great because you are doing a fabulous job of raising them. Thank you for teaching them right from wrong, showing them how to be respectful, and encouraging them to keep improving. It is a joy to work together with each of you in bringing up this next generation.
