“Provide children with a balanced lifestyle, full of what they NEED, not just what they WANT. Do not be afraid to say no to your children if what they want is not what they need.”

An article has been making the rounds in social media circles the last two years titled “The Silent Tragedy,” written by psychiatrist Luis Rojas Marcos. In the article, the author describes the issues facing parents and children today in this media-saturated, technological age. I do not agree with all that the author states in his article, but believe his ideas challenge readers to evaluate and reflect on raising children in today’s world.

I would strongly encourage you to take 3-5 minutes to read it. The article gives the reader a multitude of suggestions that could be implemented even today. Many of the suggestions could be a part of your upcoming school holidays. Here is the link to the article:
