Fine & Performing Arts: Drama

I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.

Oscar Wilde, Irish poet and playwright

At Dalat, students develop self-confidence, imagination, and the ability to work in a team in the theater arts. Dalat’s high school Drama program presents various dramatic productions each school year. In addition to acting, students may explore other aspects of drama, including script writing, theatre music writing, set production, working with sound and lighting, and costuming.

The elementary school presents a musical each semester, and middle school students are able to choose from a variety of “drama exploratories” that give them practice in memorization, public speaking, and self-expression.
