Music moves people to tears or invokes their long lost emotions.

Music is a required course for every student at Dalat from preschool through grade 8, based on the conviction that musical experiences provide tremendous education and life benefits.
All Dalat students in grades 6–8 are enrolled in the band program to promote brain development, kinesthetic skills, language decoding, and personal expression. Students who decide to continue playing music in high school further develop their musicianship by performing in a variety of small, select groups.
Vocal music is also offered to students as electives at the secondary level.
Classroom instruction is enriched by student involvement in a variety of performance groups, including:
- Beginning, intermediate, and advanced band
- Honors band
- Choir
- Musical productions at the elementary school level
- Student ensembles
- Jazz band
- Dramatic musical productions at the high school level
- Worship team
